Heater Sizing Info:

Everyone on the Internet is chasing PRICE - PRICE - PRICE!

And to a point that is fine as we ALL want a 'good deal' .

But sometimes we shoot ourselves right in both feet thinking that we are experts in everything - and NONE of us are.

The reason I do NOT put the Heater pricing on my pages is that there is ONE THING that rises above all in purchasing the correct Heater - and that is

Correct Heater Sizing.

If you will notice...Al's Heating does NOT have a 'Click-n-Buy' Web-site and that is because more than 1/2 of the Customers who call me have already decided on the WRONG SIZED Heater using some archaic heating formula or their Aunt Emily's dowsing-rod.

I am a Heating Engineer - NOT a whore on the street corner begging for a 'Cheap Trick' just to make a sale like many other Sites And like any another Science, Correct Heater Sizing is very precise and easily done wrong by those NOT in the Heating Business - and more often by those who are!

Customers who are on 'The Cheep' say 'lets get the smaller one and save money' - where-upon the Small Heater burns itself out in a short time by running SUPER RED-HOT on High during the coldest nights.

The other WRONG philosophy is 'Hey, the Big-one is only $200 more - let's go for 'bigger is better' where-upon the Big Heater Short-cycles itself to death being in too small an area for that unit.

There is ONLY ONE correctly sized Heater for each situation and that is what

Al's Heating

helps you to find so that so you are a happy Customer.

It would be awfully easy for Al's Heating to do the 'click-n-shop' like the Box Bandits who want the quick easy money and don't really even want to talk with you much less do they know anything about Heating Engineering - That is NOT our style.

After you have done YOUR part in your research (square/ft; type of home; size of walls and ceilings; foundation; doors and windows; how you plan to use the heater; other heat sources; full or part time) as pointed out on our Contact/Contact2 pages; have other Companies prices we can compare to...we will spend all the time necessary to Engineer the Correct Heater for your needs. We already know our prices are the GREAT so that is your bonus AFTER the proper Heater Engineering and Sizing.

And remember for the Toyo...Next Spring we will be the ONLY Company in the Country (not even the Toyo Factory) to have a Toyo Service and Repair Video that will keep your Toyo working perfectly for 15-20 years without having the local high-priced idiot 'servicer' wrecking your Heater and costing you more.

One Other Thing About Heating Sizing:

When the Specifications say that the heater will heat 900 or 2000sq/ft, we have to be careful with these numbers as those are the MAXIMUM heating areas for 2x6 new construction; R-39 ceilings; really tight windows and doors and at a nominal temperature of only 20°. Outside of these specifications and when it is really cold and the Heater is running on RED-HOT-HIGH all day and all night - any heater will burn out in 1/2 the time!!!

The Proper gauge for Long-life is to size the Heater about 20% below the Factory Capacity taking into consideration all the other primary aspects of heat loss. That way the Heater will run on Medium to Medium-high on the coldest nights and give the kind of Heater-life you want to expect.

Another benefit of this 20% downsizing is that although the Factory BTU sizing may be 'technically correct'...the Fan and Heat exchanger on the Mid-sized Heaters are not large enough to move the Heat efficiently and comfortably at the upper end of the Factory Sizing Chart. Therefore it is mandatory to have the larger-sized Heater with the large Heat-exchanger and Fan to have the proper Convection Air-flow Volume to get the heat to all corners of the Home.

Do YOUR work, bring it to us (with prices of course) and we will work with you to keep your warm and cozy for Years to come.

Thanks - Al, Kitty and Frisksy
