Al's Monitor Heater Parts Service M21, M22, M422, M41, M441, 2400

Let's get right to The Facts:

If the Universe were Perfect !

If all of the crucial parts in the Monitor Heaters were as they should be - the Damper Solenoid (mostly 22, 422, 441), O-ring (ALL models), Burner Mat Glue (441 & 2400), Fuel Drip Tube (21, 22, 422) and Bearings (441 & 2400), we would need few repairs and parts (as the Toyo's need very little repair if serviced properly); But that NOT being the reality with Monitors, here's what we need to do:

The Damper-Solenoid and O-Ring:

We totally believe that this one part is the cause of destruction in 95% of the hundreds of Monitor Heaters we have seen and repaired in these many years. This part determines the Air/Fuel mixture thus how well the Monitor Heater works. When it sticks, it can stick open causing the heater to run red-hot; when it sticks closed then there is a rich mixture causing total soot-up.

Part and parcel of the Damper-Solenoid problem is the O-ring. Over a period of time, the O-ring splits, breaks and falls apart either out of the way or lodges in the Damper-Solenoid spring - again causing lean or rich fuel mixtures.

99% of the idiot servicers simply replace the entire Damper-Solenoid/Spring assembly, clean and replace lots of parts in the Heater ($$$$$$$$) and the Heater will work for a time (2-4 years). But since the actual Design-problem in the Damper-Solenoid is still un-fixed, you will be paying out Big-bucks again and again and again (get the picture and how fat their wallets get?).

First, Here's the problem with the O-ring:

The Factory O-Ring probably costs Monitor 5 ¢ in bulk where-as a Premium Quality O-Ring would cost around 20¢ - So much for Corporate Bean-Counters at work and what I TOTALLY believe is anyone at the Factory caring anything at all for You.

Here are the Chemical Analysis Facts Comparing a Monitor vs. Al's Premium O-Ring:

The Lab Analysis that Al's Heating had done and Product Comparison Irrefutably shows that the Monitor OEM O-Ring fails in our EVERY standard category and is TOTALLY LESS THAN SATISFACTORY to the Quality Standards that we DEMAND of our suppliers and parts - and give our Customers at Al's Heating. Please note also that Our O-ring is 24% larger and beefier making it stronger and more impact resilient and with a Life-Time Guaranty on the Part (does Monitor do that?) thus probably saving YOU several hundreds of dollars in repairs. We believe the OEM O-ring to be the Root Cause of Millions of Dollars in UNNECESSARY REPAIRS over the years past and years to come for unsuspecting Monitor Customers. Now all that is Necessary is a Class Action Suit against Monitor and get them to pay back Millions in Restitution for what I believe is Just and Right to Monitor Owners - The TRUTH will ALWAYS out!

The Damper-Solenoid itself needs to be Up-engineered and adjusted NOT replaced..This is a $100 item you do NOT have to buy. After you dis-assemble the heater by using our detailed Service and Repair Video, you will need to mail to us the rear housing containing the Damper-Solenoid and we will Up-engineer the entire assembly with the New Style O-ring and mail it back and you will NEVER have a Sticky Damper-Solenoid Assembly again !!!

Meter - Meter - Meter!

From Test-Bench to Regular Service to Total Re-builds...the ONE MOST IMPORTANT TOOL IS THE METER. Most servicers don't even have one (they don't want to spend the $300.00) and those that do have a Meter have No-Clue how to use it. Without this special Meter it is IMPOSSIBLE to have the Monitor Heater running for long without very expensive repairs especially if the Heater has just been re-built and the Solenoid-Damper assembly has been Up-engineered. The Air/Fuel Mixture is critical to having the Monitor either Burn-up or Soot-up or puuuuuuuuuuuur like a Kitten.

The 441 & 2400 Burner-mat Glue Problem:

Several years ago, we started noticing that the 441 and now the 2400 Burner-mats were lifting at the 4-corners causing a bad burn and destroying the Flame-ring. Many servicers simply pull out the old Mat, sand down the Burner bottom a little, and replace the mat with gobs of glue on each corner, replace the flame ring and take your money and run. I have even seen where these STUPIDS ~ STUPIDS ~ STUPIDS would put large heavy nuts or washers on the 4-corners to 'solve' the problem - Remember...This is the same idiot that comes to your home too wherever you are !

Monitor 21, 22, 422 Fuel Drip Tube Problem:

With all of the small Monitor Heaters, there has been an irritating problem forever ! It lies with the fact the Fuel Drip Tube allows the incoming raw (and cold) fuel to run right down the side of the pot and cooling the fuel before it has a chance to be absorbed by the Burner-mat and burned cleanly; this fuel partially ignites before it ever hits the Burner-mat causing an initial bad burn and accumulating charcoal in an ever increasing mound right at the point where (by design) the fuel should ignite properly and cleanly.

What most customers see because of this Drip-tube problem is flashing at start-up, and as time goes on flashing in a more continuous mode. As time goes on, the burn gets worse and worse until without reason a $400.00 pot replacement is needed. It seems odd that the 22 series is the ONLY heater from Monitor or Toyo that is designed this way instead of having an extended Drip-tube which eliminates this On-going problem and expensive repairs.

We at Al's Heating have Out-sourced Extended Drip Tubes for the 21,22,422 to eliminate this Charcoal, Flashing and Bad-burn problem. These Tubes will be available in July.

Monitor 441, 2400 Bearing Problem:

We have mentioned previously about the Bearing Problems we have seen with the 441's and 2400's. This disastrous problem has a simple solution: 1st Quality Bearings - what a novel idea! Our SKF Bearings are the Best in the World...But putting them in can be easy or you can ruin the Motor Shaft.

Loose Parts - Loose Gaskets - Loose Screws

A subtly destructive problem to Monitor Heaters is air leakage. We have found that in ALL cases Monitors leak air right from the Factory and it is no better when your local idiot works on the Heater, charges you a lot and still does a poor job - one which though no one sees until 2-3-4 years later when the damage is done AGAIN !

We are a Philanthropic Company - ARE YOU NUTS !

Just like you when you go to work, we are all in this to make a profit. But unlike the Enron mentalities of this Corrupt and Bean-Counting Corporate world, our small company gives you a lot more than you bargained for ~ and 10 times more than the Stupids that work on your Heater and wreck it.
